Nachdem ich gelesen habe, dass C60 und Tetrakis(dimethylamino)ethylen (TDAE) zu einem CT-Komplex reagieren, der zudem (bei 16 K zumindest) ein rein organischer Ferromagnet ist, musste ich das natürlich testen.
Und tatsächlich, kaum gibt man einen Tropfen TDAE zu einer Lösung von C60 in Toluol, färbt die Lösung sich braun und kurze Zeit später fällt ein flockiger, dunkelbrauner Niederschlag aus.
Das Ganze werde ich demnächst nochmal sauber wiederholen und dokumentieren.

Da bin ich auf mehr gespannt - wie störend ist hier die Konkurrenzreaktion (Zerfall zum Tetramethylharnstoff)? Das Setup sieht nach Regenzglas ohne Schutzgas aus, ich nehme an, die eigentliche Synthese macht dann dann inert. Oder die Bildung des des CT-Komplexes hier bevorzugt?

Hab hier nen großen Überschuss TDAE verwendet und das oxidiert ausreichend langsam dass das für den Test auch nicht-inert funktioniert. Das Produkt scheint stabil zu sein. Die eigentliche Synthese wird dann natürlich inert durchgeführt.

Okay das hatte ich fast vermutet. Die CT-Komplexe sind dann teilweise gerne mal stabiler als die einzelnen Komponenten
Erinnert mich an eine andere lustige Sache die ich damals mit Xyrofl aber nicht noch einmal reproduzieren konnte: die C60H+
Edit: Wen das Topic Fullerene und charge separation interessiert der kann hier mal ein bissel nachlesen. Das Paper ist nicht gerade das Beste, aber die Grundidee ist nett.
